So today after work, I decided to take a nap for about an hour;
it was raining so it seemed like the perfect thing to do. I wore my comfy wear,
got under my duvet, held my teddy bear (MR SIX) and was drifting off to dream
when my phone suddenly rang. Cursing and swearing was the first thought that
came to mind but then again, I needed to know who it was. Thankfully, It was my
friend, Malick and what he had to say made my heart skip a beat…no! He didn’t
ask me to marry him! (Psyche) rather he said – “how would you like to be styled
by a celebrity stylist?”
Errr…..yeh! Who wouldn’t love to be styled by those who actually
put the ‘S’ in style? And that’s how my journey to ‘THE BARGAIN HUNTERS’ show began.
The best thing about the shoot was the location. Victoria Island was just
minutes away so off I was; the nap fairy would forgive me.
Now to the big question! Whose fashion gallery was I headed? In
my rush I didn’t even think to ask. Well, ever ready Malick came to the rescue
and almost made me hit the car in front of me. The extra ordinary ADE BAKARE
himself was going to style me! Like for real! Star struck isn’t good enough to describe the
feeling but then came the tough part. I suck at making myself up for TV and unfortunately,
the makeup artist couldn't make it no thanks to the rain and the shoot had to
go on so I did what any camera loving celebrity would do. I did my own make up!

One more thing before I close my ‘Adventure Book’ for today. Notice
the pretty dress in the picture? Funny story. Ify; my stylist and I had to get
an outfit for another event and we thought it would be easy but with three
dresses I absolutely loved and a ridiculous budget, it was up to Ify to get me, at least
one, and not me pay more. I said a little prayer for her as she walked towards
Ade Bakare because I had a feeling he’s eat her raw but to my greatest surprise,
he gave me a huge discount. I guess it does payoff to be a celebrity afterall…
